Tobacco/E-Cigs

The harmful effects of tobacco have been known since the mid 1900s.  The recent Scottish Government focus has been on discouraging people from starting smoking (prevention), protection (from second hand smoke for example) and helping those who are trying to stop smoking (cessation).

Almost 8,300 deaths a year can be attributed to smoking tobacco. This remains the largest preventable cause of premature death in Scotland and is responsible for over 40,700 hospital admissions.

Quit Your Way Hebrides provides a free specialist service.  This is confidential offering advice, help and support to anyone in the Western Isles who would like to stop smoking.

We work on a one to one basis and can visit schools, workplaces as part of our preventative programmes.

For further information or support to control your tobacco intake, contact Quit Your Way Hebrides.
